Memorial Welcomes the Cast and Crew of “Bikeman”
The 9/11 Memorial welcomed the cast and crew of the new play “Bikeman: A 9/11 Play” to a special evening tour of the plaza, where the group gained inspiration for their roles as survivors of the Sept. 11 attacks.
“Bikeman” chronicles the morning of 9/11 through the eyes of veteran journalist Tom F. Flynn, who nearly lost his life while reporting live when the twin towers fell. "Every human being in the world alive on that day experienced September 11. It was the most watched event in the history of the earth. For them, it will always be a searing memory. I believe this is everyone’s story," says Flynn.
The producers of “Bikeman” are graciously donating 7.5 percent of net proceeds from ticket sales to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.
“Bikeman brings compassion, humanity and understanding to the memory of 9/11 in a compelling one-hour play,” said Alice M. Greenwald, 9/11 Memorial Museum Director. “We are grateful to the producers for finding a way to make this performance even more meaningful by supporting the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.”
“Bikeman” has its official opening night on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at the Borough of Manhattan Community College’s Tribeca Performing Arts Center. Tickets can be purchased here.

This Valentine’s Day, the 9/11 Memorial shares stories of love from the family of John T. Vigiano Jr., a third-generation New York City firefighter assigned to Ladder 132, who was killed in the line of duty on 9/11.
In August 2013, the 9/11 Memorial held a ceremony to recognize the bravery of Medal of Honor recipient Army Staff Sgt. Ty Carter. Carter was presented with an American flag that was erected at the Memorial.
