On March 9, Smith sat down for a conversation with Clifford Chanin, the 9/11 Memorial Museum's acting director of education and senior program advisor.

The event, which revolved around Smith's experiences covering disasters before and after Sept. 11, was held at the 9/11 Memorial Preview Site, 20 Vesey St.
