The 5th Annual 9/11 Memorial 5K Run/Walk: Why Alex Runs to Remember

“As New Yorkers, we’re in it together,” said Alex Zablocki, a museum member and 9/11 Memorial Run/Walk participant, describing his decision to run. Over the past five years, thousands of people have run or walked a course in lower Manhattan to celebrate and honor the men, women and children killed on 9/11.

On Sunday, April 23, 2017, we will gather together once again to represent the resilience of our city at the fifth annual 9/11 Memorial 5K Run/Walk and Community Day.

Join us and run (or walk) for a day of fun and unity in downtown Manhattan. The 5K Run/Walk course will take participants on a historic route passing important landmarks that are part of the story of 9/11.

The route begins at Pier 26 and proceeds along Battery Park City, with views of One World Trade Center. Immediately following the run, participants are welcome to attend Community Day featuring entertainment, food, refreshments, and meaningful activities for all ages.
