9/11 Memorial to Host Events in Conjunction with Fleet Week New York
Fleet Week New York, now in its 31st year, kicks off on May 22, 2019. In honor of Fleet Week, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum will offer discounted admission for military members and special programs.
The 9/11 Memorial Museum is free of charge for active and retired members of the U.S. military. For Fleet Week New York 2019, the Museum will open its doors prior to its regular operating hours for U.S. servicemembers in uniform from Friday, May 24, through Sunday, May 26, from 8–9:00 a.m. Tickets will be distributed on a first-come-first-serve basis.
On Thursday, May 23, beginning at 9:30 a.m., around 200 marines, coast guardsmen and first responders participating in the Fleet Week WTC Freedom Run will gather after the run on the 9/11 Memorial for a special performance by U.S. Marine Corps Battle Colors Detachment.
On Friday, May 24, beginning at 2 p.m., the 9/11 Memorial will host a reenlistment and promotion ceremony on the plaza.
