The American Institute of Architects, or AIA, will honor designers behind the rebuilding of the World Trade Center in an upcoming ceremony in Washington, D.C.
The association of licensed architects will hold a special ceremony on May 19 during its annual national convention. The group says it will honor "the architects involved in the rebuilding and memorials" at ground zero, the Pentagon and Shanksville, Pa.
"They sought to help our nation when we all needed their unique gifts," according to the AIA website. "Now, it's our opportunity to simply say 'thank you' to those who represented the best of the values architects hope to convey in service to others."
