Harley-Davidson Dedicated to First Responders

In Nov. 2001, Ted Sjurseth organized a memorial motorcycle ride to honor those killed on 9/11. His event grew into the yearly America’s 9/11 Ride, where hundreds ride to the Flight 93 crash site in Pennsylvania, stop at the Pentagon and conclude at the World Trade Center site.

Sjurseth painted the body of his Harley-Davidson to resemble an American flag and added first responders’ names to the rear. Many rescue personnel signed the bike along its route over the years. Ted’s bike is currently on view in the 9/11 Memorial Museum’s Tribute Walk.
