Harvard University President Drew Gilpin Faust will be a special guest during a program at the 9/11 Memorial Museum tomorrow, June 7. The program, “From the Civil War to 9/11: America Confronts Mass Death,” traces the impact of mass death on American society since the Civil War and explains how this history shaped the American response to 9/11.
The talk is inspired by Faust’s national bestselling book, “This Republic of Suffering: Death and the American Civil War,” which The New York Times Book Review praised as “extraordinary” and “profoundly moving.”
The program is currently sold out, but those unable to attend may watch it live tomorrow, June 7 at 7:00 p.m. EST at 911memorial.org/live.
