For Jennifer Majtan, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum’s 5th annual 5K Run/Walk, held this year on Sunday, April 23, is an opportunity to honor her uncle by helping others.

“My uncle was such an inspiration in terms of inspiring others to give back,” said Jennifer Majtan, who created “Team Quack” to run and raise money in honor of her uncle, Christopher Quackenbush, who died in the South Tower on 9/11. “I remember thinking I wish there was a way I could help him inspire people today.”

The 5th annual run, beginning at Pier 26 in Tribeca and finishing near the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, is a way for Majtan and all New Yorkers represent the resilience of our city.

“By giving back in honor of my uncle – and in honor of everyone who perished that day, it satisfies a responsibility that we all have to never forget,” Majtan said.

The race is followed by Community Day, a family-friendly festival open to the public with entertainment and activities for all ages. Click here to sign up for the run.
