NJ.com: Act Proposes National Recognition, Federal Funding of 9/11 Memorial

An act was recently introduced by Republican Congressman Tom MacArthur with the aim of enabling the federal government to help fund the 9/11 Memorial. If passed, the act would ensure that the 9/11 Memorial will always be open to all.  Read more »

Honoring a Fallen Responder and his Father's Devotion

Today, 9/11 Memorial staff placed a white rose in the name of Jonathan Lee Ielpi on the bronze parapets of the south pool in honor of his birthday. Lee Ielpi spent months searching through the debris at Ground Zero. In December 2001, his son’s remains were found and he carried Jonathan out of the debris pile.  Read more »
