The 9/11 Memorial Museum has welcomed more than 300,000 visitors since it opened just over a month ago.
The attendance total has topped projections by about 5 percent since opening to the public on May 21 and to 9/11 families, rescue and recovery workers, survivors and the lower Manhattan community six days earlier.
"We feel great about the numbers," said 9/11 Memorial President Joe Daniels.
The Museum hopes to draw 2.5 million visitors a year, with 1.5 million visitors projected from the opening through the rest of this year.
