Shortly before professional golfer Kevin Chappell set a course record at the Liberty National Golf Club, he visited the 9/11 Memorial.

Chappell told Golf Digest that the visit was “A sobering experience. It's eerily quiet in that area for such a large city, and just to see the amount of people that you see there, all feeling the same thing. It's not too often that you get to see a group of strangers [that] have the same emotion.”

Chappell says the visit helped him put golf and his career in perspective. He then set the record by shooting a 62 at this past weekend’s The Barclays tournament in Jersey City, N.J. The 9/11 Memorial participated in the PGA’s Tickets Fore Charity program and were a featured partner in the Veteran’s Village at this year’s The Barclays golf tournament.
