Six months after the Twin Towers fell, they returned in the form of two blue beams of light illuminating the Manhattan skyline. Since then, they have lit the sky annually as a Sept. 11 commemoration known as Tribute in Light.  Read more »

Honoring the nearly 3,000 lives lost in the 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon and aboard Flight 93, the 9/11 Memorial hosted a commemoration ceremony on the plaza yesterday morning. At night, the memorial’s annual Tribute in Light illuminated the New York City skyline in an annual tradition.  Read more »

A Tribute to Remember

To help preserve the memory of the 10-year anniversary of 9/11, the memorial museum is seeking photographs, video and audio from that day at the 9/11 Memorial and during the Tribute in Light that evening.  Read more »

Tribute of Light Will continue to shine

The beacon known as the Tribute in Light will burn bright through the 10th anniversary of the 2001 attacks thanks to funding secured by the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation, or LMDC.LMDC also approved additional funding for two other instrumental 9/11 memorial programs, including StoryCorps and Project Rebirth  Read more »
