Every Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., a trio of bagpipers, representing FDNY firefighters and NYPD and Port Authority officers, play a salute near the e 58-ton steel beam known as the Last Column in Foundation Hall of the 9/11 Memorial Museum. If weather permits, the bagpipers play once more outside on the plaza near the Memorial reflecting pools. Last week, FDNY Capt. Jim Leach, PAPD Officer Bob Wallace and NYPD Officer Dan Noonan played a medley of Irish and American songs. It’s a poignant tribute to those killed and a moving way to experience the 9/11 Memorial.
