February 26, 1993 Commemoration Ceremony

Two people place roses on the dozens of roses already left on the 1993 panel of the 9/11 Memorial. Behind the panel water flows down the Memorial and into the Memorial Pools. Lower Manhattan is background beyond the Memorial.

Each year on February 26, victims' families, survivors, downtown residents, and city and state officials gather at the 9/11 Memorial to mark the anniversary of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing with a moment of silence, the tolling of a bell, and a reading of the names of the six victims of the first terror attack at the site.

The annual ceremony will begin at 12:15 p.m. at the northwest corner of the North Pool, in the vicinity of panel N-73. We will observe a moment of silence at 12:18 p.m., marking the time when the attack occurred.
