Pre-Visit Lesson: Comparing MemorialsStudents will understand the purpose of a memorial, compare and contrast the 9/11 Memorial with other memorials across the country, and identify how memorials commemorate people and events.Post-Visit Lesson: Staging a Memorial CompetitionStudents will understand the purpose(s) memorials serve, identify various design elements, and analyze the choices made when creating a memorial.
Pre-Visit Lesson: Airline Security in a Post-9/11 WorldStudents will analyze changes to the airline industry after 9/11, explore both sides of the current airport security debate, and formulate their own opinion surrounding the airport with support from primary sources.Post-Visit Lesson: Extending the DebateStudents will explore specific ways the world changed after 9/11 and identify evidence from primary sources to support their argument.
