The 9/11 Memorial & Museum is proud to share the 2017 Year in Review, a look back at 12 months of innovative programming and commemoration.

We continued to receive overwhelming public support: more than 37 million people visited the Memorial since its opening in September 2011 and more than 10.9 million people visited the Museum since opening in May 2014. In 2017 alone, more than 6.8 million came to the Memorial and more than 3.1 million gained entry into the Museum.

Also in 2017, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum opened “Cover Stories: Remembering the Twin Towers on The New Yorker,” an exhibition of 33 covers from the weekly news and culture magazine; welcomed probationary classes from the FDNY and NYPD; held public tributes and special events; and much more.

An incredible highlight of 2017 was the more than 120,000 students in all 50 states and seven countries who participated in our Anniversary in the Schools program and webinar and learned valuable lessons about the 9/11 attacks.
