As part of its multi-year commemoration of America's 250th anniversary in 2026, and to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, America250 - along with the National Football League (NFL) - will recognize three individuals who embody and represent the strength and bravery shown on 9/11 - and the spirit of this nation as a whole.

Nominations for the organization's inaugural America250 Awards - to be presented live during a Thanksgiving Day NFL game - are open through this Sunday, October 10. Winners will receive roundtrip tickets and accommodations so they may attend the ceremony in person.

The America250 Awards were created to honor citizens who carry out the values of unity, justice, tranquility, valor, and equality - and who work to uphold the founding tenets of the country. As a commemoration of this year's milestone anniversary, America250 will focus on those directly involved with and inspired by 9/11. Categories include 9/11 Heroes, First Responders, and Community Champions; nominations can be submitted here by midnight on Sunday.
