Do you have a 9/11 story to share?

Since 2006, oral historians Jenny Pachucki and Amy Weinstein of the 9/11 Memorial Museum have been working to collect recordings chronicling the events of the attacks of September 11, 2001. From first responders and city officials to teachers and architects, about 400 people have donated their time and contributed a 9/11 story.

The 9/11 Memorial Museum is keenly focused on collecting a recorded remembrance from families and friends of all of the nearly 3,000 people killed in the 2001 attacks. StoryCorps, a nonprofit capturing stories of America, is partnering with museum staff on this daunting task. Click here to hear some recorded remembrances from a widow who lost her husband at the Pentagon, a woman whose  sister died in New York or a mother of a New York City firefighter killed in 9/11.

The majority of these recordings will become an integral part of the future exhibitions at the museum, which is slated to open in 2012.

Share your story today at the 9/11 Memorial Preview Site at 20 Vesey St., where there's an on-site recording booth.
