Executive Vice President, Chief of Staff & Business Strategies

Benjamin Milakofsky is Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff and Business Strategies at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum. He previously worked at the U.S. Department of the Interior, where he was the deputy chief of staff to the secretary and the chief of staff to the deputy secretary.

After working for the presidential transition team, Milakofsky spent three years working in the White House Office of Cabinet Affairs. Following that role, he joined the U.S. Department of the Interior where he served for the remainder of the Obama administration.

Milakofsky was the Department’s ex-officio representative to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council (board of trustees). He also served a three-year term on the Board of the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington and was the vice president for young leadership in 2016. Currently, he serves as a Board Observer to the 14th Street Y.

He is a graduate of Columbia Business School and has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Maryland, College Park.

In his spare time, Milakofsky has run two marathons, and he climbed Mount Rainier in July 2017.
