Lee Cochran

Senior Vice President, External Affairs

Lee Cochran serves as the Senior Vice President for External Affairs at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum. She is the primary spokesperson for the organization and is responsible for all communications and marketing, as well as group sales.

Prior to joining the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, Lee was a Vice President on the Global Public Affairs team at Blackstone, where she oversaw communications for the Blackstone Charitable Foundation and the firm’s ESG efforts. Prior to Blackstone, Lee worked at Bloomberg LP and Bloomberg Philanthropies in a variety of communications roles through the years, ultimately leading communications for Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Environmental program.

Lee received a B.A. in English from the University of Virginia and is a member of the school’s Shadwell Society, a branch of the Jefferson Scholar Program. She also serves on the Leadership Council for Bottom Line, a New York City non-profit focused on supporting students of color from under-resourced communities get into and through college.
