Chief of Staff
Benjamin Milakofsky is the Chief of Staff at the National September 11 Memorial and Museum. He previously worked at the U.S. Department of the Interior where he was the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Secretary and the Chief of Staff to the Deputy Secretary.
After working for the Presidential Transition Team, Ben spent nearly three years working in the White House Office of Cabinet Affairs. In November 2011, he became the White House Liaison at the U.S. Department of the Interior.
Ben was the Department of the Interior's Ex-Officio representative to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council (Board of Trustees).
Ben served a three year term on the Board of the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington and was the Vice President for Young Leadership on the Executive Committee in 2016. He was also co-chair of Young Leadership where he served on numerous task forces and committees. For a number of years, Ben was a volunteer at Miriam's Kitchen.
He has a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Maryland, College Park.
In his spare time, Ben has run two marathons and climbed Mount Rainier in July 2017.
