In recognition of Veterans Day, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum will offer special admission and host a series of events during a five-day Salute to Service. Throughout the tribute, all veterans, along with active and retired members of the U.S. military, will receive free admission to visit the 9/11 Memorial Museum. Members of the U.S. military will also receive half price Museum tickets for up to two family members.

Salute to Service will begin on Wednesday, Nov. 9, with representatives from the FDNY, NYPD and PAPD placing American flags on the 9/11 Memorial in the names of fallen first responders who were also veterans. Other events include an opening ceremony and wreath-laying near the Survivor Tree by the Veterans Day Parade grand marshals and a ceremony honoring the United States Marine Corps’ 241st birthday.

On Veterans Day, Team Red, White & Blue will place yellow roses on the 9/11 Memorial in the names of those killed on 9/11 who had served in the military. The tribute will conclude on Sunday, Nov. 13, with activities for families in the museum classrooms that focus on themes of heroism and patriotism.
