Thank you to all who participated in the 5th Annual 9/11 Memorial 5K Run/Walk and Community Day on Sunday, April 23. More than 5,000 people joined together on a sunny Sunday morning to help raise awareness about the 9/11 Memorial & Museum and to honor and remember the nearly 3,000 men, women and children who died on 9/11.
Participants ran and walked to remember loved ones lost and to raise funds that help sustain the 9/11 Memorial & Museum as a lasting place for remembrance, reflection, and learning. After the race, Greenwich, Liberty and Fulton streets were packed with thousands of people enjoying the sunshine during the 5K Community Day, which featured food trucks, the West Point Band, and Mr. Met among other activities.
The 9/11 Memorial & Museum would like to give special thanks to the sponsors of the 9/11 Memorial 5K Run/Walk and Community Day including RXR, Abercrombie & Fitch, The Carson Family Chartitable Trust, First Data, New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital, Westfield World Trade Center, Bloomberg Philanthropies, Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, Howard Hughes, Ford Motor Company, One World Observatory, Time Inc, The Bauer Family, Bloomberg Square Mile Relay, Duane Morris, Tom & Ann Johnson, The Durst Organization, Fandango, GNYHA Ventures, Major League Baseball, Whole Foods, Clear Channel Outdoor, Action Environmental Services, Can You Dig It Sand Tools, City Vineyard, Gymboree, and Marc Friedland Couture Communications.
