The Memorial on Saturday, January 30 at 10 am, 12 pm, 4 pm, and 8 pm

The Memorial and Museum were closed on Saturday as a winter storm complete with high winds, swirling snow, and frigid temperatures hit New York. But for our tireless Buildings & Grounds team, it was no day off. Tasked with clearing the nearly 15 inches of snow that blanketed the eight-acre Memorial, they braved brutal cold, gusts up to 50 mph, and constant snowfall to ensure the site would be safe and ready for visitors on Sunday. We captured the progress our intrepid team made over the course of the day, with a little help from the fearsome "snow dragon" snowmelter.
