Josephine Smith, the daughter of a FDNY firefighter who was killed on 9/11, recently graduated from the Fire Academy. Following in her father’s footsteps, Smith says it was a “bittersweet” moment.
“Growing up, I wanted to be so much like my father,” Smith said. “I just wanted to go out and be everything my father was.”
Given her recent graduation, she will be carrying on her father’s legacy.
Just as Smith is honoring the memory of her father, you can join us in honoring the 2,983 victims of the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001 and Feb. 26, 1993 by participating in our #Tribute2983 social media campaign.
