Josh Cherwin

Chief Advancement Officer & Deputy Director for Institutional Advancement

Josh currently serves as Chief Advancement Officer and Deputy Director for Institutional Advancement at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, responsible for managing the organization’s private fundraising initiatives and events, as well as the Museum’s membership programs. Prior to this, he served as Executive Director of the New York State Democratic Senate Campaign Committee, overseeing statewide fundraising, political and campaign strategy on behalf of the New York State Senate Democratic Conference. From 2000 to 2008, Josh served in various roles for former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, most recently as Special Advisor. He is a graduate of the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. Josh currently resides in Manhattan with his wife, Gina, and daughter.
