Filipino Police Discover Plot and Crucial Evidence

Police in Manila, the Philippines, respond to smoke conditions in Ramzi Yousef’s apartment. There, they discover bomb-making materials and other evidence. Abdul Hakim Murad, Yousef’s associate, returns to the apartment to recover Yousef’s laptop. The police apprehend Murad. The laptop contains details of the Bojinka plot, a draft of a letter in which Yousef claims responsibility, and the names of nearly all involved. It will prove to be crucial evidence in the U.S. government’s case against the conspirators.
