This artwork presents the “11” panel of “9.11 Heroes of Our Memory,” a two-part commemorative poster and archival project.

Set against an archival image of the New York City skyline, the names of fallen first responders are arranged to form the number “11.” The names of 21 Korean victims are also recorded alongside them, acknowledging the Korean lives lost in the September 11 attacks.

From a distance, the composition appears as the symbolic number “11.” Viewed up close, it reveals the individual names preserved within the image. This change in perspective emphasizes that collective memory is not formed by numbers alone, but by individual lives, sacrifices, and personal histories.

The complete project honors 412 fallen first responders and 21 Korean victims. Together with the companion “9” panel, this artwork completes the numerical symbol of 9/11 and forms a unified memorial composition.

Created from the perspective of a Korean designer, the work expresses respect and gratitude for the first responders, commemorates the Korean victims, and emphasizes that remembrance extends beyond national borders.
