From 1999 to 2001 I did a series of paintings “ New York" series inspired by the landmarks/icons of New York, i.e. the Empire State Building, Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park, United Nations and the Twin Towers. When September 11 happened, at the time I was working on these paintings in my studio on 36st., I saw this tragedy from my window, and decided that day to stop this particular series of artwork.
