In September of 2001, after teaching an early class at M.S. 216, Marc walked the hall to the teachers’ lounge to relax before the next art class would come storming in.
Choreographed in the fall of 2011, in the wake of the events of 9/11/2001, "Standing Tall" is dedicated in memory of those who perished that day and the heroes who sacrificed their lives to save them.

How can a work of art speak in the wake of primeval chaos? What is the responsibility of the artist, whose vocabulary is paint and bronze, wood and light, to those who are gone?
My installation, PRECAMBRIAN WALTZ, was initially commissioned by the Port Authority of NY & NJ in 1985 as a work of public art for the PA Technical Center in Jersey City, long before the unforeseen terrorist attacks on 9/11.

Being a chaplain, I was not at Ground Zero to capture images. However, after some time passed, it felt OK to preserve a few scenes that I felt captured the essence of what had transpired on 9.11 and the people who rose up to respond.
Words have always been my chosen medium to work with. I can't draw and I don't get out as often as I should with my camera, but I always find time to jot down a few words here and there.
