"911 An Ode to the Disaster" was taken from my collection of poetry in which I've entitled: FOR WHAT IT'S VERSE.

When the events of September 11, 2001 occurred, Doreen Lynn Saunders was working for a company at 34th St. and Sixth Avenue, a central location in New York City.

I donate all my work to charity--those of a cause important to life and preservation of precious liberty.

This work is dedicated to the innocent lives lost at the site of The World Trade Center in lower Manhattan.

September 11, 2001 is a day that changed our nation and changed many lives in many different ways. For me, it was a change in my career and my way of life.

Artist Statement

From 1985 to 1993, I photographed people coming in and out of the elevators in the World Trade Tower with the purple rug on the floor.

My name is Linda Woods and I am an art teacher at St. John's School in Houston, Texas. The mural in this portfolio was made by three students in my second grade class; Vijay Patel, Ryan Fiedorek, and Roosh Bhosale.

Shortly after the 911 attacks I wrote and recorded "THE BADGE OF COURAGE ", as a tribute to all who were there that day or were affected in some way.     Words and music by Gary Schuetz, copyright 2001

In one evening I wrote the article, "Fallen soldiers will always be remembered". The notion came over me, as I had not thought of writing anything. The picture was also not planned.
