Every day, a single, white rose rose is placed on the 9/11 Memorial pools at the names of the victims whose birthdays would have been celebrated on that day. This simple and powerful gesture began in 2013 after a volunteer suggested this tribute to remember the loss of human life on Sept. 11, 2001 and Feb. 26, 1993.
Over the years, family members have expressed the desire to receive photographs of their loved one’s birthday rose. In response to these requests, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum has launched a special webpage where family members may request these photographs.
Family members who wish to receive a photograph should visit 911memorial.org/birthdayroses and complete the online form to request the photo, which is sent by email.
