The Lens: Capturing Life and Events at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum

The Lens: Capturing Life and Events at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum is a photography series devoted to documenting moments big and small that unfold at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum.

The View: On Wednesday, prospective and alumni players and staff affiliated with the New York Rangers visited the 9/11 Memorial & Museum. The team toured the new special exhibition “Comeback Season: Sports After 9/11” before gathering before the South Pool. The team left flowers and paid tribute to Garnet Ace Bailey and Mark Lawrence Bavis, two scouts for the L.A. Kings who will killed on 9/11.

New Sports-Related Artifacts Installed in the “In Memoriam” Gallery

A Marlboro racing jacket, a paddleball paddle, a karate black belt, and two golf balls are among the items displayed at the “In Memoriam” gallery. Each item belonged to a victim of the 9/11 attacks.

Each year, the 9/11 Memorial Museum rotates the objects on display in its In Memoriam gallery. The objects on view once belonged to, or were created in memory of, the victims of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, and Feb. 26, 1993.
