The commemoration ceremony for the 16th anniversary of the September 11th attacks was held at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum yesterday for family members, first responders, and city, state and federal officials. After the ceremony, the Memorial Plaza opened to the public for the annual viewing of Tribute in Light. Here are some images of remembrance captured throughout the day.

2017 Survivor Tree Seedling Recipients Announced

A tribute made up of flowers and British flags have been placed at the Survivor Tree following terrorist attacks in the United Kingdom.

Manchester, Charleston and Haiti — three otherwise disparate communities all recently impacted by violence or extreme destruction — have been honored by the 9/11 Memorial & Museum with the offering of Survivor Tree seedlings.

The 9/11 Memorial Museum has launched a new weekly gallery talk series, which will highlight selected artworks from the exhibition “Rendering the Unthinkable: Artists Respond to 9/11.” The program will run every Thursday through fall 2017.
