In recognition of Veterans Day, members of Team Red, White & Blue placed yellow roses on the 9/11 Memorial this morning in the names of those killed on 9/11 who served in the military. This special tribute is part of a five-day Salute to Service at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, which honors our country’s veterans with special admission, events and programming.

The 9/11 Memorial & Museum would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to the courageous men and women who have served and continue to serve our country. In his annual Veterans Day letter, 9/11 Memorial President Joe C. Daniels called on the public to take a moment today to thank our veterans.

“These men and women have sacrificed so much in service to our country and as a small gesture of gratitude, we are asking you to please take a moment on social media today to thank our veterans with #ThankAVet,” Daniels said. “Let them know what their commitment to protecting our country means to you, and let their service be a shining example for all of us to follow in our lives and communities.”
