Students ages 16 and up can volunteer at the 9/11 Memorial Museum this summer as either a visitor services volunteer or a retail greeter.

Visitor services volunteers welcome Memorial and Museum visitors, directing them and informing them of the various programs and exhibitions available. Retail greeters assist sales staff at the Museum store, providing visitors with accurate and helpful information to enhance their visit.

Josepha K., a 2014 summer visitor services volunteer says, “The 9/11 Memorial Museum helped me develop the leadership skills I wanted. I find it much easier for me to go up to a person and ask if they would like any help now, and I’ve learned to take initiative when I'm at the Museum. I learned to adjust myself to individual needs, which is important in the job world.”

Another volunteer, Valerie P., says, “It is an incredible way to give back to the local community while making meaningful connections and getting to know New York in a different light.”

More information on these roles and applications are available on our website. Interested students should submit an application by May 15, 2015. Please contact volunteer@911memorial.org with any questions.
