    Presentation

Since training at the Royal Academy in the Hague the sculptor, Kees Verkade (born 1941), models the human form in all its facets, with emphasis on movement and emotion.

The subjects set in bronze are varied: children at play, clowns in action, athletes and dancers in deep concentration, mothers cherishing their children or lovers surrendering to blissful happiness.

Colourful gouaches and silkscreen prints form a part of his extensive oeuvre. The many devotees, collectors and faithful clients have promulgated Kees Verkade into being the most sought-after sculptor in the Netherlands. His monumental works are spread all over the world, from New York to Nice and from Monaco to Maastricht.

Kees Verkade's artwork has been successfully sold in the most prestigious auctions at Christie's and Sotheby's in Amsterdam
