    Statement of Work

Like many Americans, 9/11 will be etched in my mind and in my heart forever. I was working for Morgan Stanley at the time and saw the news that the first plane hit the World Trade Center Tower on the scrolling Dow Jones news wire. I called my brother who was working on the floor of the American Stock Exchange, and he said it was terrorists. As we were taking, the second plane hit the Towers, and my brother said they were all leaving the building. That was the last I heard from him until many hours later.
We closed our office around 10:30 a.m. I volunteered to stay with the office manager and answer the phones. I was given a script to read with an 800 number for people to call who were looking for family members, co-workers, friends and acquaintances. The fear, the sadness and the hope in their voices was heart wrenching.
My hopes faded in the days following the attacks. My hometown and surrounding towns were hit hard with the number of lives lost. My cousin, one of my best friend’s brother, neighbors, friends, and co-workers perished on that fateful day.
The world changed on 9/11, and one can only hope it changed for the better. I no longer look for a reason or for answers. Now I only look to make a difference.
