Statement of Work
A synthesis of energetic brushstrokes and pure lines by BOUDRO & KATCH
At the opposites of their artistic expression, the connection of these two artists resulted in a powerful POP-art work, innovative and unique, full of audacity and harmony, bringing into evidence BOUDRO’s dynamism and KATCH’s purity.
During a circumstantial meeting in New York the two artists formed a bond; exchanging styles they had the idea to create a work of art full of happiness and color, as homage to New York City for the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
Only 10 original works will be created as part of this project.
The "painting"’, with the American flag’s "Stars and Stripes" as background will have the shape of KATCH’s unique RED heart formed out of BOUDRO’s own puzzle pieces. One "removable" puzzle piece uncovers an original BOUDRO New York pop-art work.
The play between the puzzle pieces’ thickness and the shades of red create a unique 3D effect.

Influenced by the American Pop Art,the Montral-based BOUDRO paints New York as no one else does. Energetic, vibrant and very colorful, his works reflect the agitated lifestyle and feverish atmosphere that is found in the Big Apple. Through the image of the Yellow Cab, he reveals an impression of wild mechanical rhythm emaning from the American megalopolis. With his electrifying red arrows, he makes us feel the exciting movement and exaggerated speed of these classic cars. The disproportion of the elements and perspectives found in his work provokes in the observer's mind the impression of being totally involved in the dynamism and vitality of the city.
With pure colors and a very pop comic-stripe style, BOUDRO successfully caricatures the one and only New York City. BOUDRO is a young artist who never ceases to amaze us with the richness of his composition and his passion for the Big Apple using his own neo-pop style, overwhelming dynamism and original outlook.

By creating a visual synthesis charged with subtle humour, KATCH's inquisitive eye, transforms pictographic elements with plenty of daring and harmony, into pure ART.
The perfect HARD-EDGE* execution of KATCH's works, emulates silk-screen printing. Executed in variable styles, KATCH's trademark hearts are present in many of his compositions with roles that seem to reflect the struggle of humanity, in placing materialism against idealized love. Finally, the graphic element in KATCH's work is often complemented by written idiomatic expressions that bring voice to the visual aspect of the composition creating a direct and witty dialog with the viewer who can read between the lines.
