For more than thirty years, Simmon has created paintings, assemblages, collage, and photos with imagery culled from his research of multi-cultural symbols. He studies the art materials used throughout the ages to discover the purest use of them to fulfill his ideas, narratives and visions.

Village Art Supply in Santa Rosa, California was founded by him in 1993. He continues to teach, paint, and lecture.
