I had a lucid dream at 3am on 9/11/2011... The image I saw was the now completed work 9/11...

I immediately arose and scetched the image and then started painting it... 3 days later it was finished.

I have since painted a Triptych of 9/11 in a larger format.

My name is John Anthony Hawken, I started painting when I was 10 years of age. I am retired now at age 66 so I am painting fulltime. I have recently had an exhibition of my 'Disaster/Victory' Series, 12 works, 6 Disasters and 6 Victories. The first in the series was 9/11 painted in 2011.

I have had lots of interest shown in the series and have sold a number of the 9/11 canvas prints.

I was educated at SHC Auckland, New Zealand and read for a BA at The University of Auckland, New Zealand.
