Changed The Skyline was created as a musical response to the events of September 11, 2001, and the lasting human consequences of that day.
The work focuses on the people behind the images remembered around the world: families desperately trying to contact loved ones, people fleeing Lower Manhattan, and firefighters, paramedics and other first responders running toward danger.
The title reflects both the physical change to the New York skyline and the much broader changes that followed. While the song acknowledges the conflict and uncertainty of the years after September 11, its ultimate message is one of remembrance and hope for peace.
Twenty-five years later, Changed The Skyline remembers those who were lost, those who responded, and the families and communities whose lives were forever changed.
