Statement of Work
As a child during 9/11, Sophia will never forget the events of that day. In submitting work to the museum, she hopes to capture the spirit of hope and resilience that she saw and continues to see from New Yorkers. Newer work captures the 25th anniversary, and Sophia expects to continue to capture anniversaries of 9/11 to ensure it is never forgotten.

Sophia Zengierski is a writer and photographer based in New Jersey. Her work has been featured in the Penn Review, the Glasgow Gallery of Photography, Wizards in Space, SevenSeas Media, among others. Her poems and photos often explore themes of identity, loss, and the intersection of nature and humankind.
