A narrative poem honoring Abraham Zelmanowitz and Edward Beyea, two friends who perished together in the North Tower on September 11, 2001, bearing witness to Abraham's unwavering loyalty and faith in his final moments.
The terroristic attack on the World Trade Centre has touched me deeply and I wanted to express my emotions about this horrible act. I decided to paint an impression in which all names of the victims should be integrated.
That morning signaled an air of tranquility,
The sky was as blue, as the bluest sea;
I alighted from the train to see
That giant tower rocked quite mightily!
AFTER THIS WAS PAINTED, I WISHED TO SEND A PRINT TO FAMILIES OF ALL THE FIRE, EMS, POLICE AND OTHER RESCUE PERSONS WHO LOST THEIR LIVES THAT DAY AND THE DAYS THEREAFTER.
This poster was an inspiration to make. The spot lights shining up to the sky have all of the names of the people that perished in the World Trade Center faded into those spot lights.
