Many artists have exhibited "Tribute to 911" pieces, each with their own unique approach.

The sketches displayed here were created by my Aunt – Jenny Scamporlino – as a tribute to her memory of the World Trade Center as it was before the destruction. Here are some words from her younger sister – my Aunt Fran:

I wrote a song about 9/11 on what was then, the 10th anniversary.  I wrote it based off an interview with survivors who recounted the details of what had happened on that day, and I always remember one person saying, “Those on the outside only saw

The following was written around the time of the 10 year Anniversary of September 11, two years ago. It ran as my lead story in a magazine I publish called the Los Feliz & Silver Lake Community Guide.

This whole project was the brainchild of Ms. Nayna Mehta, a graduate from the prestigious Gemological Institute of America. She has worked tirelessly along with her team to bring this project to fruition.

I have been writing poetry for about 30 years. I believe in order to write a good poem, you need to be especially moved by the events that inspired it. Our nation was caught up in many emotions following the attacks of September 11th, 2001.

Writing poetry in response to 9/11 is my personal attempt to honor life for all its joys and sorrows, to celebrate the frailties of human nature, to offer another way to perceive the mundane, to refresh our minds, arouse, amuse and indemnify.

An instrumental piece I had written after being in Midtown Manhattan on 9/11. Signifies that as of September 12th, the world as I and my wife & children had known it was forever altered...

I'm Laura Miller and I am the artist behind LIVIVIDLI (pronounced live vividly). I came up with LIVIVDLI because my name is so common but mostly as a description of my art & life.

My art is a communicative instrument. It is narrative. It is a reflection of who I am and how I view the world. And yet my art tells just one part of a story. Upon your first look, at my work, you may not capture the entire story. so...

Batik is the medium that is associated with decorative, functional items. My early work did consist of simple designs, but my style has emerged into a more intricate, representational one.
