9/11 Poem for First Responders and Clean-Up Volunteers

Following the events of September 11th I felt compelled to pay tribute to the victims and try and make some sense of the huge range of emotions I was feeling. I decided to create a mixed media piece showing the towers returning to the earth.

In Staten Island, we built our home,  

With two small children, I wasn’t alone.  

A normal morning, routines underway,  

“Connected Souls”

My name is Zahied Tony Mohammed and I was born in Trinidad. I have had the privilege to live in New York City for almost thirty years.

My photography and poetry represent my dreamscapes and vision in hopes that your interpretations bring healing and remembrance.

As a proud American I wanted to exprees the reason why I wanted to donate this sculpture I designed depicting The United States Postal Stamp entitled " Fallen Heroes'.

Operation Teammate tribute video to the 9/11 attacks and 20-year remembrance of the sacrifices that our military and First Responders made to protect America. USA Olympians, Paul Wahlberg, the UGA Gymdogs and Mr.

Like everyone else I was traumatized by the events as they happened on September 11th 2001.
I was glued to the images on TV and reading everything I could in the newspapers. I could not comprehend this happening here in the United States.

"Moment In Time"

I live in the shadow of the World Trade Towers. Before they fell, there was only air between us. I often wondered whether they would land on my high-rise if they fell in my direction. They did.

Artist Statement

"Never Forget" is a song that was written as a tribute to those who lost their lives in 9/11, and a tribute to those who honor that memory every day.
