As a student at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY in 1972, the desk in my dorm room sat facing the East River and lower Manhattan. Every day I watched the cranes lift the twin towers of the new WTC steadily upward.

I was completely devasted after the terrorist attacks of 9/11. I kept thinking and wondering what the angels in heaven must be experiencing, thus the title came to me "Lament of the Angels".
The painting “In Memoriam” was originally created shortly after September 11, 2001, to communicate in a symbolic and respectful manner the tragic events and the feelings experienced by the nation at that time.
