My name is Abu mwenye, I am originally from Tanzania and this is my story. My trip from Africa to the United States was an amazing journey. In July of 2001, l came here hoping and dreaming for a better life.

My art is primarily about spirituality and sensuality. It also encompasses humanness, passion, justice, dignity, nature, peace and most importantly love. The spiritual represents the soul and the sensual physicality.

After a friend of mine discussed his joining and fighting for his country, then graciously shared his entire duration with me, I, unfortunately, could not join myself so I had to do something.

Kathy Ruth Neal (1945-2009) was a self taught woodcarver. She always felt her grandfather, Walter Whipple, make-up artist and silent screen actor ("Hell's Hinges"-1915), influenced her lifelong interest in colors, painting, and drama.

In all my time living in New York City, I could depend on the Twin Towers to let me know where I'm at when I got disoriented. They were my compass.

Liberty is a unique piece and shows a weeping statue of liberty terrified at the most critical moments in the collapse of a tower and a plane crashing into the other.

My artwork is usually centered around anthropomorphic characters that represent nostalgic places that were in my hometown, & related characters. I was born in 1989, & I'm very egalitarian in a more generally socially conservative town.

When I sat down to do a painting commemorating 911, the first thing that came to mind was the beautiful clear blue sky that day which I wanted to capture in my work.

This song came to me as I was listening to a radio talk show the morning of the terrorist attacks, September 11, 2001. The talk show host was describing the emotions that were surrounding the whole event.

I am a Rhode Islander.

On Sept 11, 2001 I was having an oil change on my car and while waiting, I saw on TV the first plane hit the Tower. My first thought was this cannot be, This is America.

My name is Scott Norris. I am a Captain with the Saanich Fire Department in Victoria British Columbia.

In 2003 I won the international competition to design and install the 9/11 memorial in Norristown, Montgomery County seat, Pennsylvania.

The original version of my folk ballad, "Day of Ash", was composed on the third weekend of October, 2001. Slightly over a month after the tragic happenstances that occurred in New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania.
