This musical and video presentation is the answer to a prayer I made on 9-11-09.
While I watched again for the ninth year the horror of 9-11-2001, I prayed that I receive a song about the healing of 9-11.
I moved to New York in October of 1999 and lived in Astoria, Queens for two years. I started work at Corbis, Inc (a stock photography archive) in January of 2000. I worked 90 blocks from the World Trade Center in 2001.
For 30+ years I have been an oil painter of the urban landscape. The older buildings and side streets of New York hold a special fascination for me as I try to capture the texture, detail and especially the light of the city.
Here is a graphic representation of the sept 11 atrocious tragedy, based on broken phrases, words, screams of suffering and cries for help that presumably resounded inside the towers that day, before and during the dramatic sequence of terror and death
I am an artist who moved from Venice Beach, California to New York’s Financial District in January 2001. On September 11th, when the towers collapsed, papers and documents from the offices within landed on my terrace.
My wife Valerie & I were taking a cruise on the Pacific Princess to Bermuda; the last Sunday the WTC was standing, 09/09/01. I didn't realize how important this photo would become to so many people.
