ARTIST’S STATEMENT

A Heart Felt Nashville produced 9/11 Tribute Country Songs called "May We Never Forget"

On the morning of Sept. 15, 2001, four days after the attack on the Trade Center, I finally prevailed upon my friend Mike Lennon, retired FDNY, to take me down to "The Pit" as I was desperate to help out with the rescue and recovery efforts.

I typically paint on wood panels, including construction grade plywood and hollow core doors and thickly and rapidly apply oils in multiple layers, which i think of like manuscript drafts.

This is what I am trying to express in paint.

At first glance Ho Jun Ji’s digital images may appear to be mere photographs, but upon further inspection the intricacies of his work are revealed. The viewer discovers that Ji is much more than an artist, but a scientist and perhaps, a philosopher.

When we look at a building in ruin, we can only guess at the lives of the people who lived or worked there.

On the morning of 9/11 I was recording in a studio session in Central London. The session did not go well and I decided to end off early. It's so strange to say it but there was actually just a strange air of something being very wrong.
