When pioneering firefighter Brenda Berkman retired from the FDNY in 2006, she decided to study printmaking at the Art Students League, where she quickly fell in love with stone lithography. In 2013, she began a series of stone lithographic prints entitled Thirty-Six Views of One World Trade Center, to commemorate the 15th anniversary of 9/11 and document the rebuilding of lower Manhattan. Berkman went on to create hundreds of prints depicting iconic views of the new One World Trade Center over the course of three years. Pieces from the series are included in the 9/11 Memorial Museum collection, the collection of St. Olaf College (Berkman's alma mater), and that of a private collector. We are pleased to welcome the artist as she signs copies of her book of lithographs.
